Please note that under the current phased easing of Covid-19 restrictions the Club has reviewed its policy on group walking and intends to re-commence activities on April 7th. The link below, when clicked, will open the latest version of the Club’s open-up guidance document. Please take time to read the document, as in order to provide safe and enjoyable walking some changes have had to be made to the way the Club operates and some recommendations have been outlined.
The decision to re-commence ADRC group walks has been reached after considering the following:
Under stage one of the phased easing the “rule of 6” comes into play on March 29th and outdoor sports can re-commence. During the previous 2020 lockdown we were classed as an outdoor sport and received notification from Sport England that as an organised and fully constitutionalised Club we would be exempt from the “rule of six” and could have walks with groups of up to 30. The Ramblers Association confirmed this and various other documents were obtained which covered us in the event of a challenge. The Club has taken the view that nothing has changed and that we will again be exempt. We will have the same or similar documentation in place to once again protect us in the event of a challenge. This will include correspondence from our 2021 insurers who are happy for us to go ahead as long as we comply to Government guidelines and use the documents that we already have in place – Hazard Appraisal Form, Walk Participant Register etc.
A circular for April will be produced and issued, but this will be slightly later than normal. A full programme of walks has been organised with two walks available for each Sunday and Wednesday and work is underway to obtain walks and leaders for the months ahead.
Should anything of the above need to be changed you will be notified accordingly, so please check the website, your e-mail inbox and your e-mail spam box regularly for updates.
