The Club for Hillwalkers, Ramblers and Amblers
Welcome to Altrincham and District Rambling Club, the Club for Hillwalkers, Ramblers and Amblers. We are a “not for profit” organisation with very modest membership fees whose objective is “to encourage the appreciation, conservation and enjoyment of the countryside”. Please explore the site and the Facebook page to find out more about us and the countryside walks and other activities that we can offer you.
Our Walks
ADRC offer volunteer, and as such unpaid, led walks on Sundays and Wednesdays and depending upon the availability of our volunteer leaders, at least two walks of differing orders of difficulty are normally offered on each day. In addition to the Sunday and Wednesday walks we also offer a gentler “Ambler” walk, which currently takes place once a month on a Friday. All the walk details and other relevant information is contained within the monthly walks programme which is circulated to members and posted in the Members Area of this site. Coach trips to walking areas further afield also take place during the summer months and there is also an annual walking holiday which usually occurs in April.
In order that you can get to know us and sample some walks before deciding whether to get involved further, please visit the Contact Us page and complete the form. The Membership Secretary will then send you a pack which will contain, amongst other items, the current walking programme. More general information about our volunteer led walks can be found on the Walking With Us page. Please note that for all walks in the countryside you will require walking boots, waterproof coat and trousers, a rucksack, a personal first aid kit and enough food and water for the type/length of the walk that you are undertaking.
