Under “any other business” at the 2025 AGM member John Capel raised the issue of the current system of calculating the charge for passengers receiving a lift to the start point of a club walk, with particular refernce to the current and increasing number of fully electric and hybrid vehicles on today’s roads. John’s main point being that members receiving a lift from a driver using one of the above types of vehicles are potentially being overcharged and the current system should be reviewed by the committee.
Following on from this the committee have decided to consult you the members on this matter and are asking for your feedback on the current system and the option for changing this to a tiered system of some kind. Please help your club by providing your feedback asap but no later than April 30th. The feedback will then be collated and the results will be discussed at the committee meeting in May.
